Trent Edwards Out, Bills fall to 4-1

The Bills are no longer undefeated.
After galloping to a 4-0 start in the 2008-09 NFL football season, the Bills suffered their first loss after Arizona took out Trent Edwards in the very first quarter before winning convincingly, 41-17.
Yes, with just one play, the Buffalo Bills quickly remembered how losing tastes like. On the very third play of the game, Bills quarterback Trent Edwards went down with a concussion after Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson blitzed untouched, leveling Edwards and slamming him to the ground.
J.P. Losman took Edwards’ place but unfortunately, the Buffalo Bills were simply never the same as the Arizona Cardinals took advantage of the Bills who remained on the field without the guy who engineered this Cinderella run in Buffalo.
‘’I looked to see if the ball was completed, then he didn’t get up,’’ Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson said. ‘’I know the situation that happened with Anquan [Boldin] last week, so it was just a scary situation whenever you see a guy just laying there and not moving. So I just wanted to help out.’’
‘’I just came from Trent,’’ Bills coach Dick Jauron said in his postgame news conference. ‘’Trent was responding, but he was still a little groggy. Hopefully, he’ll be fine as time goes by here. It’s a good time to have a bye.’’

Will Rodgers play for Packers Sunday?

He has to, because watching Favre throw SIX TOUCHDOWNS last weekend just shows what a terrible mistake his team made in trusting him.
That’s right, in the same afternoon Brett Favre threw six touchdowns for his New York Jets in a 56-35 win over Arizona, Aaron Rodgers was getting sacked three times, leaving the game for one series because of a shoulder injury midway through the fourth quarter of a 30-21 loss to the Buccaneers.
That was one of those 
games that will make you think why the Green Bay Packers gave up on Favre. The Packers were determined to jump start the future by giving Rodgers the starting QB spot, sending Favre to New York back in the offseason but after last Sunday, I have a feeling the Packers are doubting themselves now if they made the right decision.
For what it’s worth, both the Packers and the Jets have identical 2-2 records after four weeks into the 2008-09 NFL football season. But still, after those four weeks, it was clear that Favre was the better quarterback than his successor in Wisconsin.
Of course, we wouldn’t be able to claim that if Brett Favre didn’t have that incredible six-touchdown performance against Tampa.
Because of Rodgers’ injury, the Packers can only hope that the guy they invested on this season will still be able to play. And unlike the New York Jets who could very well win a wide-open race in the AFC East, the Packers still have teams like the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings gunning for them in the NFC North while they fix their problems at the…

The first month of NFL football will conclude this Sunday and we have some great tips for you as always.
You read it, the 2008-09 NFL football season will be a month old. And after three weeks into the season, we found out that the Bills are for real, the Texans are still bad and Ronnie Brown can singlehandedly beat the living daylights out of the Patriots.
So what’s in store for us football fans when the NFL season resumes this Sunday? Let’s start with the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Jets because you just know Brett Favre will be itching to get back to the win column after losing his second straight game last Monday night.
Sure, Favre’s availability against the Arizona Cardinals is still unclear after he rolled on his ankle during the third quarter of the Jets’ 48-29 loss to San Diego last Monday but since the guy holds the NFL record of starting in 256 straight regular season games, I have a feeling he’ll still show up and play. After all, he asked for all of this when he decided to unretire right?
If Favre plays, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to pick the New York Jets over the Cardinals by a touchdown.
Favre’s former mates will be in action as well when the Green Bay Packers visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what should be another tough NFC match-up for the cheeseheads. After suffering a big loss to the Cowboys last Sunday night, traveling to Tampa to play the Bucs just might be too unforgiving for the young Aaron Rodgers. Besides, the Buccaneers have one of the better defenses in the league and I don’t think Green Bay’s A-Rod can come up with magic over Jon Gruden’s D.

Can he come back like the MVP we knew him to be?
Down and out, such was the fate Tom Brady fell into to start the 2008-09 NFL football season. Yes, after earning league MVP honors a season ago, watching him go down like that this early was a shame.
The New England Patriots will now look to move on without Tom Brady and with Matt Cassel leading them to a perfect 2-0 record after filling in for the injured starting quarterback, so far so good.
Backup Matt Cassel has been solid so far. In his first start with the Patriots, he has done something only a few has and that’s win your first game as a starter against future Hall-of-Famer Brett Favre. Now that’s the way to make a splash into the league right?
As for Tom Brady, his road for a comeback starts.
Brady has to deal with his torn ACL first. The ACL is a fibrous band of tissue that runs from the thigh bone to the shin bone and provides stability for the knee during jumping, cutting and pivoting maneuvers. It is one of four major ligaments in the knee, and an ACL tear is one of the most common knee injuries suffered by athletes. It’s possible Brady also suffered other damage to his knee, which could lengthen his recovery.
Aside from that, Brady also has to deal with a torn MCL.

Cowboys, Super Bowl XLIII favorites

With the Patriots losing their star QB, the Cowboys have inherited the title ”heavy favorites.”
After Bernard Pollard let loose a vicious hit on Tom Brady’s knee that ultimately put the Patriots quarterback out for the rest of the 2008-09 NFL football season, Pollard may have taken the Patriots out of this year’s title chase.
Now that Tom Brady is out, the Patriots’ chances of making a return to the Super Bowl this season just went from a probability to an impossibility and I won’t be surprised if the focus shifts to Texas where the Dallas Cowboys are looking to finally return to the big dance since the days of Troy Aikman.
Yes, with the season-ending injury to Tom Brady, the Dallas Cowboys have replaced the New England Patriots as the heavy favorites to win Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida.
After all, like the New England Patriots, the Cowboys also have a solid passing game with Tony Romo and Terrell Owens leading the way. And since Romo spends more time trying to avoid the paparazzi more than he avoids defensive ends during gamedays, you just know America will be rooting for this team.

Against the Cleveland Browns, the Cowboys showed us why they should be the heavy favorites to win it all.
