George Mason and their surprising March Madness saga

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Can this Cinderella team of 2006 shock all of us again?

With merely a few more days before the 2008 March Madness bracket tournament begin, we remember the George Mason Patriots and their climb towards the NCAA Final Four two years ago.

The George Mason Patriots shocked the rest of the world, LITERALLY, in 2006 when they went all the way to the NCAA Final Four. Although they lost to the Florida Gators that year, their Final Four stint instantly let them become ‘’superstars’’ of their own campus.

Sportsbetting.com picks their favorites for March Madness

With 9-2 odds to win it all this 2008 NCAA college basketball season, the Kansas Jayhawks join the UCLA Bruins as the teams to beat in the coming madness this March. That’s according to the folks who work with Sportsbetting.com.

The Tennessee Volunteers sit behind the No.1 Tigers with a 23-2 record. Can they keep this up ’til March Madness? Um… Probably not.

Perhaps the biggest rivalry in all of college hoops is being relived this season with both the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke Blue Devils doing so well to own the No.3 and No.5 spots, respectively.
