76ers BRAND Philadelphia with Elton
Friday, July 11th, 2008
The Elton Brand’s movie script in LA is over.
You read it, Elton Brand ended his script in L.A. and signed a whopping five-year $79.795 million contract to join the up and coming Philadelphia 76ers team. Yep, Brand will definitely improve the 76ers frontcourt and with a guy like Andre Iguodala by his side, things are looking up again since Allen Iverson left for Denver.
Of course, the move makes the 76ers instant contenders in the Eastern Conference once the new 2008-09 NBA basketball season starts in October. And to think they almost got it done against the Pistons in the first round of the playoffs WITHOUT a player of Brand’s caliber, Philly should now be an even stronger team once the season starts all over again.
Elton Brand and the Philadelphia 76ers made it official Wednesday, ending the anticipation of a dream tandem between Brand and Baron Davis in Los Angeles, a tandem that could probably lift the Clippers from the shadow of LA’s premiere team, the Lakers.
With Brand singing with Philly, the Los Angeles Clippers should still be happy about the fact that they pulled a deal that landed them a Baron Davis before they lost their entire frontcourt.
But then again, Baron Davis has a knack for sitting out most of the games played in an entire season. They should’ve just concentrated on keeping Brand in L.A. instead of landing yet another guard in their roster.
Brand wanted to stay with the Clippers but after his agent David Falk received a ‘’take it or leave it’’ contract from the team, everything changed. The said contract was nearly $20 million less than…

LeBron to move to Brooklyn and play for the Nets?
Yes people, with still months away from the brand new 2008-09 NBA basketball season, we already have some shocking news for ya’ that just might change the face of the hoops world.
After leading the Cleveland Cavaliers back from obscurity, LeBron James just might opt to join his friend Jay-Z and play in the city he himself ranked as the city he likes best, Brooklyn.
For all ya’ll who didn’t know, the New Jersey Nets is moving to Brooklyn and after they traded away Richard Jefferson to the Milwaukee Bucks to free up some salary cap space, the possibility of the Cleveland Cavaliers demi-god playing for the Nets in the city he digs just became more of a possibility.
Yep, you just know the Nets organization is just itching to land probably the biggest commodity next to a Kobe Bryant after freeing up some salary cap space to pay a guy of LeBron’s caliber and if the Nets do pull this off, a three-year, four-year title dynasty for this Nets organization is not that impossible.
‘’My favorite borough? Brooklyn,’’ LeBron James said, choosing the proposed future home of the Nets over the borough of Manhattan, where the Knicks play their home games. ‘’Brooklyn is definitely a great place here in New York City, and some of my best friends are from Brooklyn, so I stick up for them.’’
So where does Cleveland rank in James’ personal list of favorite…
Baron Davis CLIPPED by Los Angeles?
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
The road for the 2009 NBA title has really begun now.
With still more than a few months before the brand new 2008-09 NBA basketball season begins, teams have started tweaking their rosters here and there, hoping that they’ll be able to land basketball’s biggest prize next year.
And now that it’s that time of the year when the biggest of NBA stars start asking for bigger paychecks, things will become even busier. One team that has been busier than usual is the Los Angeles Clippers.
With Elton Brand opting out of the final year of his contract in L.A., it looks like they already have their eyes fixed on a new dog after the guy opted out of his contract as well, Baron Davis. And rumor has it that the Clippers have landed him
You read it right, like Mr. Brand, Baron Davis decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Golden State Warriors, an unexpected move to say the least after strong indications last week say that he would not be forfeiting next season’s whopping $17.8 million salary to become an unrestricted free agent.
Well, that’s exactly what he is at this point. That’s why the Clippers have been clamoring for the guy since.
Baron Davis’ agent, Todd Ramasar, said that his agent has always been adamant about remaining a Warrior. Tell that to the Clippers who are trying to land Davis and pair him with Elton Brand. That is if they can sign both guys.
With them trying to sign both guys for the coming season, that’ll mean they no longer have any interest whatsoever in Corey Maggette. After leading the Clippers in scoring most f his career, he also opted out of his contract after seeing his role with the team diminished since Mike Dunleavy took over as…
Can Ben Wallace lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2008 NBA Playoffs?
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008
In case you missed it, Ben Wallace got traded to Cleveland merely hours before the trading deadline passed.
Yes people, as the window of opportunity to deal players away closes, the Cleveland Cavaliers came up with a huge 11-player trade that landed them former Piston now former Bull, Ben Wallace, this 2007-08 NBA basketball season.
In what has been a rather confusing deal that saw 11 players move that involves the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Chicago Bulls and the Seattle SuperSonics, Ben Wallace and Joe Smith move from Chicago to Ohio in hopes of helping LeBron James at the offensive end.
As far as the rest of the guys involved in the trade is concerned, Seattle SuperSonics stars Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West will also be going to the Cleveland Cavaliers after Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry literally gave up half of his roster.
The Cavaliers moved Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown to the Chicago Bulls while also sending Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall to Seattle. Now I don’t know about you but it seems the Cavaliers are going all out this year to finally win a title.
‘’Ben Wallace is tough,’’ Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry said. ‘’He’ll bring an energy, a toughness, a presence to what we are doing.’’
Ben Wallace, after spending all those years…
