That was the wakeup call for Georges “Rush” St. Pierre in which Georges “Rush” St. Pierre once again retaliated with a magnificent and dominating resurrection. Afterwards Georges “Rush” St. Pierre won via unanimous decision in UFC 74 over The Ultimate Fighter cast member and top five contender Josh Koscheck. After that fight Georges “Rush” St. Pierre defeated Matt Hughes for the second time in his career in UFC 76. Georges “Rush” St. Pierre then went on to win his welterweight title back in a rematch with Matt Serra in UFC 83 via TKO in his hometown in Montreal, Canada.

 

It was the second time Georges “Rush” St. Pierre won the UFC welterweight title belt and has then successfully defended it in UFC 87 against Jon Fitch via unanimous decision. Georges “Rush” St. Pierre has an impressive 13-2 career and has avenged both of his losses to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra in convincing fashion. Georges “Rush” St. Pierre already holds a unanimous decision win over BJ Penn last 2006 in UFC 58. Georges “Rush” St. Pierre is one of the best pound for pound fighters in Mixed Martial Arts and clearly is the best welterweight in the world as of the moment.

 

BJ Penn is currently on a three fight winning streak himself and is the current lightweight UFC champion. BJ Penn is also one of the most dominating fighters in the UFC where he made his debut in UFC 31. BJ Penn started in the lightweight division where he clearly has earned his nickname “The Prodigy”. BJ Penn then moved up to welterweight where he beat Matt Hughes as well to win his first belt. BJ Penn then lost in a rematch with Matt Hughes afterwards lost via split decision to Georges “Rush” St. Pierre. After leaving the UFC to compete in other weight classes BJ Penn ten made his return to the UFC as The Ultimate Fighter 5 team coach against Jens Pulver and then avenged his loss at the finale. BJ Penn went on to defeat the ultimate fighter 2 winner Joe Stevenson at UFC 80 and finally win the lightweight belt. BJ Penn is only the second man in UFC history to win a belt in two different weight classes. After defended his interim lightweight belt in UFC 84 against former champion Sean Sherk BJ Penn then has set his sights on regaining the welterweight belt which is currently held by Georges “Rush” St. Pierre.

 

For the betting community I would really love to see BJ Penn win, however right now Georges “Rush” St. Pierre is in a class of his own. It would be best that we stick to the favoured bet this time in the UFC and place our wagers on Georges “Rush” St. Pierre. On a different note, both fighters Georges “Rush” St. Pierre and BJ Penn have a history of underestimating their opponents an it would be only a matter of who would have the audacity to do so.
