Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics is back from the fluThe Boston Celtics were on top form with a 12 game win streak only to be defeated by some NBA Western Conference powerhouses who did not have their franchise players available and the New Orleans Hornets who do not have Chris Paul is more than less of a stellar threat for their upcoming basketball game. The Boston Celtics will try to get back to their winning ways since they will be heading into a six game road trip, next in line are the New Orleans Hornets that are playing hurt and incomplete since missing all star point guard Chris Paul. The Boston Celtics had a  19 game winning streak until it was cut short by the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, the Boston Celtics had déjà vu while carrying their 12 game win streak back home against the Los Angeles Lakers and lost 110 – 109 in overtime. The Boston Celtics who are defending their NBA Championship won against the New York Knicks but lost to the San Antonio Spurs losing two consecutive home games fir the first time this NBA regular Season.

“We’ve got a tough task in front of us, going on the road for the next couple of weeks, and we’ve got to make up some ground,” Paul Pierce said. “We have our work cut out for us. This is a big road trip for us.”

Kevin Garnett who had 26 points and 12 rebounds against the San Antonio Spurs had sufficient help from starting point guard Rajon Rondo who added 16 assists but was not enough to get rid of the former NBA champions. Superstar point guard Chris Paul is averaging 21.5 points and 10.9 assists this NBA Regular Season is out with a strained groin while Tyson Chandler has missed the last 11 games with an ankle injury is also not likely to participate.

“It would be nice to have all our guys back,” New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott said. “I’m looking forward to having those guys back as soon as possible, but I’m not going to jeopardize them for one game. If they’re healthy and ready to go, then they’ll play.”

The only good news for the New Orleans Hornets is that David West will return after being suspended on a flagrant foul violation. In any case that would not be enough for the New Orleans Hornets to overcome the Boston Celtics who are in full force both on the offensive and defensive end where they most probably would take advantageof the lack of big men the New Orleans Hornets have.

“We did a terrible job on the defensive boards, and they just killed us,” Byron Scott said. “It’s not the first time we have addressed this. We have to get tougher, that’s the bottom line.”

For the Basketball Betting Community it would be wise to settle on the moneylines instead of putting our wagers on the point spread as the Boston Celtics are not a great team on the road which was proven in the 2008 NBA Playoffs.
