NBA Basketball Betting Preview for the 2009 NBA All Star Game
The 2009 NBA All Star Game which will be held at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona is just a few days away. The 2009 All Star Game would be yet another basketball gambling delight as this would feature the NBA’s top basketball players of the year with the exception of players that were left out of the fray.
Kobe Bryant would be appearing in his 11th All Star Game and is a favourite to win this year’s NBA All Star game MVP award. With the way the Los Angeles Lakers are playing it would not be a surprise if Kobe Bryant goes home with the award.
On the other end of the court would be Kevin Garnett who would be playing in his 12th NBA All Game, yet would not be a favourite to win the MVP award. LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is the reigning All Star MVP and is next in line on the polls to take the award.
Notable NBA Players are Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers and Devin Harris of the New Jersey Nets who are both in their first ever NBA All Star Game.
Here are the 2009 NBA All Star game rosters:
East Starters
- Dwight Howard
- LeBron James
- Kevin Garnett
- Allen Iverson
- Dwyane Wade
East Reserves
- Paul Pierce
- Ray Allen
- Rashard Lewis
- Danny Granger
- Joe Johnson
- Devin Harris
- Mo Williams
West Starters
- Yao Ming
- Tim Duncan
- Amare Stoudemire
- Kobe Bryant
- Chris Paul
West Reserves
- Shaquille O’Neal
- Dirk Nowitzki
- Chauncey Billups
- Pao Gasol
- Tony Parker
- Brandon Roy
- David West
For the Betting Community, I prefer not to put our bets on the point spreads as this would be a sloppy and none competitive game all throughout the first half as players such as Kobe Bryant would be showboating dunks and dribbling skills for the majority of the first and second quarters. What would be a good wager is on the under/over since these for sure would be over whatever the Las Vegas Odds makers put out.
The Moneylines would also provide a tempting option as the NBA Eastern Conference All Stars have an advantage on youth and speed, not to mention size and finesse in the paint as Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett would most likely take it to the hole against and aging Shaquille O’Neal and a slow Yao Ming.
The Point Guard position would be a great contest between Allen Iverson of the Detroit Pistons and Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets. With the way Allen Iverson has played in Detroit is a good debate that Chris Paul is a better player now, however people tend to forget how much Allen Iverson sets up his All Star teammates in the All Star game. Allen Iverson does not look to score but make the game overflow with eye candy passes and alley-oops.
