Brett Favre takes on Green Bay on MNF
Four years ago, we wouldn’t even dream of this one happening.
But on Monday Night Football, it will as Week 4 of the 2009 NFL football season concludes with this classic rivalry only made better now with Brett Favre playing for the ”other” team.
That’s right, we have this classic face-off on Monday Night Football as the Green Bay Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome where the ultimate Packer Brett Favre will play the Packers for the first time in his career.
The Minnesota Vikings are off to a great 3-0 start, courtesy of a last – second touchdown by Favre last Sunday to beat the San Francisco 49ers 27-24. It was an unbelievable finish to an unbelievable play in what has been an unbelievable game you have to see to believe.
In case you missed it, Brett Favre beat the 49ers after finding Greg Lewis in the endzone with a 32-yard touchdown to win it for the Vikings. It was a classic Favre finish that justified why Brad Childress wanted No.4 playing for him this season that bad.
On Monday night, reality sets back in as the Vikes welcome a red hot Green Bay Packers team that has already moved on after letting Favre go two years ago. Aaron Rodgers has done a great job in leading the Packers offense in the post Favre era. And after all those seasons playing as Favre’s backup, Rodgers is now one of the better young quarterbacks the league has today.
The Vikings – Packers rivalry is already one of the best rivalries in football. This game on Monday night will be that much bigger with Vikings quarterback Brett Favre facing his former team for the first time. Yep, it’s the Packers and the Vikings on Monday Night Football and Brett Favre is wearing purple.
We’re going with the Minnesota Vikings because after last week’s exciting finish, we now know that betting against a Brett Favre is not a good idea.
