Who’ll win SEC? Florida or Alabama?
Saturday, December 5th, 2009
It doesn’t get any better than that.
Arguably the biggest game of the weekend, the top two teams of the nation, both still yet to taste defeat this 2009 NCAA college football season, collide as No.1 Florida Gators take on No.2 Alabama Crimson Tide for the SEC title.
That’s right, the SEC championship game will pit two undefeated teams against each other in order to decide who wins the conference this season. The 2009 SEC championship game will also most likely decide who will play for the national title come January.
This title game between the Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide is dubbed as the most anticipated matchup in college football since Florida and Oklahoma played in the BCS title game last year. It’s the game people started talking about in the preseason and have been pointing to ever since and now it’s finally here.
The Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide are in a battle between two high-profile coaches; Florida’s Urban Meyer and Alabama’s Nick Saban. This contest will also be about two Heisman trophy hopefuls Tim Tebow and Mark Ingram, not to mention a war between two of the nation’s best defenses with a spot in the national championship game on the line. The winner advances to the BCS title game in Pasadena, Calif. The loser still gets a BCS berth, almost certainly in the Sugar Bowl.
In a game this huge, who should you pick?
Let’s look at Florida. The Gators, the defending national champions, were the unanimous choice to win the Eastern division, while No.2 Alabama was a popular pick in the West. The Gators needed a last-second field goal to beat Arkansas and played close games against Mississippi State and South Carolina. They secured a spot in the SEC title game in late October.
Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide edged Tennessee on a…
Iverson returns to 76ers vs. Nuggets

Will he cry like a baby too?
Allen Iverson is happy to be back with the Philadelphia 76ers this 2009 NBA basketball season. The way he cried like a baby almost from the start of his return news conference ’til the end was evident of that.
And in case you missed it, yes, Allen Iverson wept, throwing away every street cred he had out the window in the process. He’ll play his first game back with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, ironically against the same team the 76ers traded him to following a bitter parting, the Denver Nuggets.
Will Iverson start? Can A.I. show us that he really can still play at a high level? How in the hell can he help the Philadelphia 76ers, a team THIS CLOSE from throwing away the season? Well get the answers soon enough but as far as Iverson is concerned, he can now breathe a sigh of relief.
”I want to retire here,” Allen Iverson said. ”Coming back home, all I could think about was the people who made me who I am.”
”I always thought it was strange having another uniform. I couldn’t feel comfortable with another uniform.”
”I watch other NBA teams. I can’t watch the Sixers. Ever since I left, I wasn’t able to. Not because there was any bitterness, it was just a feeling I get. I gave everything I had here for 10 years. It was just always tough for me to watch them, so I didn’t.”
”I don’t want to prove anyone wrong in this situation. I’m not in it for that. If I can help my team win basketball games the way Coach wants me to help, then I’ll be satisfied.”
”I want to fit in. I want to be a part of any success we have. I just want to be one of the guys. I don’t need a whole bunch of praise. I don’t need a whole lot of accolades. I just want to play basketball.”
Iverson’s first game back with the 76ers against the Denver Nuggets on Monday will be the first time he puts a 76ers jersey on since…
Tiger Woods involved in a marital spat?
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
In case you haven’t heard, we had a rather surprising end to Thanksgiving.
Yes, and that’s all thanks to Tiger Woods who, just last Friday, was involved in a car accident that was probably caused by a martial spat between him and his wife Elin Nordegren.
The accident forced Tiger to withdraw from his own tournament that was suppose to benefit his charity foundation. However, withdrawing from his own tournament is the least of Tiger’s worries now.
Since the car accident may have been caused by a martial spat between Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren, the clean image Tiger has been building for years are all in shambles now.
In case you didn’t know, Tiger was rumored to have been having an affair with a certain Rachel Uchitel from Los Angeles and with the incident, it certainly proves once and for all that this thing between Uchitel, Tiger and his wife is more than just speculation.
So who is this Rachel Uchitel you ask?
Well, this girl has a thing for sports athletes. You see, she has a reputation for dating married celebrities with her having been involved with the likes of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez before. Nabbing a Tiger however, should be the biggest catch she has ever made since it has already created quite a media storm.
Authorities found Tiger Woods dazed on the ground, fading in and out of consciousness after his SUV hit a tree allegedly following a spat with his wife Elin Nordegren. Woods was taken to a nearby hospital to treat his facial cuts and bruises.
Woods’ Thanksgiving weekend taking a bizarre…
Mayweather destined to fight Pacquiao?
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
Provided Pacquiao can rid his name of drug allegations.
Talks of a Manny Pacquiao – Floyd Mayweather fight has begun with the two sides discussing a mega-fight between the Pacman and the reigning pound for pound champion.
Yes, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is still the pound for pound champion in boxing since nobody has beaten him yet. As far as Manny Pacquiao is concerned, he’s just a guy who hits hard, nothing more, nothing less.
According to some rumors, Richard Schaefer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions who handles Floyd Mayweather Jr., flew to Las Vegas to discuss the fight with Bob Arum of Top Rank. No further details were given.
Manny Pacquiao is coming off the latest in what has been a string of fluke victories for the biggest joke in boxing since Hashim Rahman, with a victory over WBO Welterweight champion Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas.
The win secured Pacquiao his seventh title in as many weight classes, a boxing record, although there are rumors that claim Pacquiao is taking performance enhancing drugs to gain that edge over his opponent inside the ring.
As for the reigning pound for pound champ Floyd Mayweather, he is coming off a dominating victory recently, beating Juan Manuel Marquez in a September 19th unanimous decision.
Mayweather was and still is considered by many to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world after victories over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton in late 2007, before choosing to retire after Hatton fight. Mayweather’s match with Marquez was his first since returning from retirement.
With the two sides meeting, the heart of the…
Dana White is not a fan of Kimbo Slice
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
Apparently, that’s what the UFC president wants you to think.
In case you didn’t know, Kimbo Slice is a part of the Ultimate Fighter 10 and UFC president Dana White has already made it public that Kimbo will fight inside the Octagon no matter what happens in the show and despite the fact that Kimbo lost his first fight in it.
And since Kimbo Slice already lost to a fat-ass like Roy Nelson before Dana White made it public that he’s going to the UFC anyway, it is only normal for some people to think that Kimbo is getting some sort of ‘’special treatment” from the UFC president.
When White was asked if it was true, his reaction didn’t surprise me at all.
”That’s bullshit,” Dana White said speaking to the claim made by some of the other fighters on the show that Kimbo had some sort of special treatment, including having his entourage, including his wife and kids, at his fight.
”His wife and kids were never there. His manager was there.”
”Let me tell you what, I’ve never seen such fucking crybabies in my entire life as the heavyweights. It’s unbelievable. The only difference with Kimbo and the other guys on the show was that if Kimbo made it to the UFC, his contract would be bigger than the others.”
As for the guy who beat Kimbo Slice in Ultimate Fighter 10, White had some well chosen words for him too. Apparently, Roy Nelson claims White gave Kimbo his own media to make personal phone calls throughout the show. And since he was the guy who beat Kimbo’s head to a pulp while he got him pinned in the crucifix position, he is questioning why White is still favoring Kimbo among every other guy in the reality program.
”Roy Nelson is a moron,” White bluntly stated…
