Will he or will he won’t?

With still weeks before the 2008-09 NFL football season begins, people from Wisconsin are probably still shocked after hometown hero, Brett Favre, announced that he’ll finally retire after three years of postponing what was probably the inevitable.

But wait, here come some rumors that claim Brett Favre is itching to return to the field and once again don the No.4 Green Bay Packers colors and dance. Is this really real? Will we have the privilege of watching one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, make a run for it one more time?

Brett FavreWith all the excitement this rumor generated, the ‘’ultimate Packer’’ was quick to put an end to it. ‘’It’s all rumor,’’ the former (as of press time…) Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre said. Too bad eh? As for the excitement the news generated, Favre says, ‘’No reason for it.’’

After that incredible run in the playoffs, you can’t really blame these rumors for clamoring for Favre to make another comeback. Hell, even Favre’s Packer teammates refuse to dismiss that No.4 already has football out of his blood.

‘’I’ve talked to Brett and I know he has the itch to come back and play. If he will or not, I don’t know. But I know he’s feeling he wants to play,’’ Green Bay Packers defensive back Al Harris said. Harris also claims Favre, after talking to him, had these words that will probably make the Wisconsin area quiver.

‘’I got the itch.’’

Brett Favre has become an icon in football. Hell, not even a substance abuse issue destroyed the way his fans, as well as the media, look at the guy. Everybody loves Brett Favre and until he makes that announcement, saying that he’ll play football again, we’ll keep on hoping.

For now, I guess we can live by the fact that Favre said that there ‘’are always second thoughts’’ during his retirement speech.
