MIke Swick Wins in UFCUFC Fight Night is a mixed martial arts event that will be held at the Pearl Palms Concert Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 23 2008.

The main event of UFC Fight Night will be a light heavyweight fight between Mike “Quick” Swick (10-2-0) vs. Josh “The People’s Warrior” Burkman (20-4-0).

Mike Swick is a mixed martial arts fighter who relies on striking, speed and aggression. Mike Swick has been fighting since 2005, and was on a 5-match win streak before suffering a unanimous decision loss to Yushin Okami during his last fight at UFC 69: Shooutout. Prior to that loss, Mike Swick had knocked out Alex Schoenauer and Gideon Ray. Mike Swick also won by submission against Steve Vigneault and Joe Riggs. Mike Swick’s last win was a unanimous decision over David Loiseau in UFC 63: Hughes vs. Penn.

Josh Burkman relies mostly on his strength and wrestling skills. Josh Burkman has won 5 of his last 7 fights in the UFC. He has booked wins against Sammy Morgan, Drew Fickett, Josh Neer, Chad Reiner and a recent Majority Decision win against Forrest Petz in UFC 77: Hostile Territory. Josh Burkman’s recent loss was back in UFC 71: Liddell vs. Jackson when he lost via unanimous decision to Karo Parisyan.

Even though Josh Burkman may have the momentum of a recent win as opposed to Mike Swick, who lost his last match and seeks redemption, the MMA odds makers have favored Mike Swick to win the main event against Josh Burkman. Josh Burkman may have more experience fighting in the octagon, but perhaps the aggression of Mike Swick might just be too much for Josh Burkman to handle.

The MMA fighting sportsbook has listed the odds of the Mike Swick vs. Josh Burman UFC fight as:

Mike Swick -175

Josh Burkman +135
