LSU QB Matt Flynn signals touchdown on run of LSU Fullback Jacob HesterOhio State Buckeyes at Louisiana State Tigers - 3.5

The No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes looked to be in top form early in the first quarter when Ohio State’s Chris Wells rushed for a 65-yard touchdown plus a field goal to lead 10-0 against the No.2 ranked LSU Tigers. However, LSU Tigers QB Matt Flynn got his groove on and led the LSU offense to score the next 31 points with Flynn passing TDs to Richard Dickson, Brandon LaFell and Early Doucet.

In the second half, Ohio State tried to gain some ground, but the LSU defense & special teams forced a lot of turnovers, including key receptions and a blocked field goal attempt. Eventually, the 2 touchdown throws by Ohio State’s QB Todd Boeckman gave a small glimmer of hope, but it was LSU QB Matt Flynn’s TD pass to Richard Dickson which finally broke the back of Ohio State, and kept the final scoreline at 38-24.

LSU’s U.S. College Football championship is the second for the Tigers in five seasons.
