Joe Calzaghe-Roy Jones Jr. bout pushed back
Since beating Bernard Hopkins with his thousand slaps, Joe Calzaghe the Pride of Whales and current WBO and WBC Super Middleweight Champion as well as Ring Magazine’s Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion postponed his fight against Roy Jones Jr. who is duly noted for once owning the WBA, WBC, IBO, IBF, NABF, WBF and IBA Light Heavyweight Championships at the same time.
Although Joe Calzaghe has the hand speed of a Norse God, he still has yet to prove that he can knockout people with a patented knockout shot not just a sack full of slaps would do the job.
As for his fight against Roy Jones Jr. things may be a bit different and so would be the scheduled time. Joe Calzaghe the WBO and WBC Super Middleweight Champion apparently called Roy Jones Jr.’s team and informed that the fight would be delayed due to a sprained right wrist.
“Well, sounds like he has a normal but usual injury and he had showed concern before about his hand not being ready,” Roy Jones Jr. said. “I don’t want him to be no less than his best so if this what it takes for that, then so be it.”
As for the betting aspect of this bout, we can no longer doubt Joe Calzaghe the current WBO and WBC Super Middleweight Champion. He can and will beat Roy Jones Jr. in his own game of speed which he lost a long time ago.
Fearless Betting Prediction: Joe Calzaghe via unanimous decision.
