Bob Arum considering a Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya fight
As of late, Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions is seriously considering the Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya fight that everyone has been questioning him about. Bob Arum hinted that the WBC Lightweight Champion Manny Pacquiao has the chance to fight “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya by the end of the year. With big names under Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s long list of Mexican victims like Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Eric Morales and recently David Diaz people are hoping for the biggest Mexican Fighter of them all, none other than Oscar De La Hoya.
Although the Top Rank promoter, Bob Arum admits that the idea is still premature and has to go under serious consideration before both parties sit and talk about the bout.
The prized Filipino fighter is also on his way to Las Vegas, Nevada to view the Miguel Coto-Antonio Margarito fight that is scheduled on July 26 at the MGM Grand.
“Manny (Pacquiao) is coming to Vegas for the (Miguel) Cotto fight. He’ll be arriving on Friday and we’ll discuss what his plans are going to be” said Bob Arum
Bob Arum said that he needs to sit and talk with Manny Pacquiao’s lawyers and discuss what the demands are and percentage of the revenue they can gain from an Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao fight.
In case this spectacular bout pushes through, for the betting community this is a no brainer. No matter how much people love Manny Pacquiao these days it seems fit to say that it would be in the best interests of boxing bettors to put their wagers on Oscar De La Hoya. Even if Manny Pacquiao gained the WBC Lightweight belt or if he defeated Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Eric Morales it looks like beating Oscar De La Hoya is just a far fetched idea.
