NBA Basketball Betting Picks for the Cleveland Cavaliers (21-4) versus the New York Knicks (17-8)
Friday, December 19th, 2008
With the addition of Maurice Williams to lead the offense for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the resurrection of Ben Wallace on the defensive end the Cleveland Cavaliers are getting of to one of their best starts in franchise history. LeBron James all the while just keeps getting better year after year, if it’s a consolation he still does not have a consistent jumper. With that said Kobe Bryant still has the upperhand in a debate of who is the best NBA Basketball player in the league right now. But with LeBron James toying and having his way against any defense thrown at him by any team, who thinks that a left out Carmelo Anthony can handle the well improved LeBron James.
The Denver Nuggets have been very successful after acquiring Chauncey Billups from the Detroit Pistons. Sad to say the Detroit Pistons are not doing as good. After Allen Iverson left for the Detroit Pistons, the Denver Nuggets offense has flourished…
NBA Betting Tips on the new Phoenix Suns and the point spreads
Friday, December 19th, 2008
Now that the
Phoenix Suns made a humongous blunder after blunder for their future, we take a look at the betting aspect of the basketball game when it comes to the new look Phoenix Suns. First of all a trade to acquire Shaq O’Neal which made them lose Shawn Marion to the Miami Heat was a Major mistake that lowered the teams fast paced action. Next they lose Mike D’Antoni to the New York Knicks, who as far as we are all concerned is doing a much better job than Terry Porter.
One rule of thumb for NBA franchises when it comes to your star players, keep them happy. The Phoenix Suns did the total opposite to Steve Nash when they traded Boris Diaw and Raja Bell who happens to be Steve Nash’s best friend on the team.
Despite dropping considerably from his high times in the Phoenix roster, Raja Bell is still a solid role player for the Phoenix Suns.
Lastly, where is Leandro Barbosa in the rotation?
The talented Brazilian has more than shown his skill numerous times both in the NBA post season and NBA Regular Season. If Terry Porter was a good coach he would know when and how long to use his players. So far the former Portland Trail Blazer point guard is mocking Steve Kerr to fire him. The abysmal record of the Phoenix Suns just shows us that they can be relied upon on both moneylines and point spreads…
Just bet against the Phoenix Suns up until they get a new head coach.

2008 NFL Week 16 Betting Tips
Thursday, December 18th, 2008
It’s crunch time in the NFL with only two weeks remaining in the season.
Yes, it’s already Week 16 of the 2008-09 NFL football season and nothing, absolutely NOTHING has been decided as far as the final playoff picture is concerned. And after 15 weeks into the season, we learned that Matt Cassel can put up points, Terrell Owens is letting Romo and Witten have their thing together (for now…) and the Lions STILL can’t win shit. (Surprise… surprise…)
Heading to NFL Week 16, we’ll have the last Thursday and Monday night games of the season and since we’re giving you a heads up for the coming football action, we’ll start on Thursday night when the Indianapolis Colts visit the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Indianapolis Colts want to extend their six-year streak of making it to the playoffs. That’s exactly what they can do with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will try to partially salvage their season of failed expectations by at least delaying the Colts’ seventh straight entry into the postseason. However, the 10-4 Colts won seven in a row to put themselves at the top of the AFC wild-card standings. That’s why you should stay away from Jacksonville for this one.
Indianapolis Colts by 7
For the first time this season, we’ll have NFL football action on a Saturday when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas. This is historic for the ‘Boys since they’ll be playing their last game at the stadium. Of course, they’re looking to win their last one too. The Ravens currently share the same 9-5 record with three teams; the Jets, the Dolphins and the Patriots, and if they win their last two games, they would finish 11-5, including 8-4 in the AFC, to give themselves a better playoff position heading to the postseason. However, since…
Can the Knicks sign LeBron James?
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
Fixing the Knicks has been a tall order.
But if the Knicks can complete this master plan they started this 2008-09 NBA basketball season, then maybe, just maybe, the Knicks can finally fix their situation and finally get back to prominence.
What’s this plan you ask? Well, it is obvious that the New York Knicks, after trading away their top two scorers, are joining in on the LeBron James lottery.
With the departure
of the Knicks’ top two scorers, that being Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph, via separate trades, the Knicks will now have to work doubly hard to manufacture points and other intangibles that the two players left.
Zach Randolph was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. Randoplh, who is averaging 20.6 points this season, gives the Clippers an accomplished low-post scorer to work with guard Baron Davis.
Jamal Crawford, on the other hand, was sent to the Golden State Warriors for Al Harrington. He is currently averaging almost 20 points per game.
By trading their two leading scorers, the Knicks will clear approximately $27 million in salary-cap space for the summer of 2010 when the biggest prize in NBA free agency history, Cleveland’s LeBron James, can become available.
Randolph will be making $17.3 million and Crawford $10.1 million in 2010. For the Knicks, this will create significant flexibility as that historic free-agent class of James, Dwyane Wade and…
Alabama V Utah in 2009 Sugar Bowl
Monday, December 15th, 2008
It’s so unfortunate for the Crimson Tide to end what has been a dominant year this way.
The Alabama Crimson Tide stayed on top of the BCS rankings the longest this 2008 NCAA college football season. Head coach Nick Saban has done an awesome job keeping the Crimson Tide at the top of their game.
Unfortunately, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a 31-20 loss to the Florida Gators at the wrong time, during the last few weeks of the season. The defeat couldn’t have come at a worse time, since it gave Alabama no chance to bounce back like other one-loss teams like, ironically Florida and the Oklahoma Sooners, two teams facing off in the BCS championship game in Miami. So instead of playing for the national title, they had to settle for the 2009 AllState Sugar Bowl.
Despite that, the Alabama Crimson Tide was STILL one of the country’s most compelling teams, returning to national prominence in coach Nick Saban’s second season.
Before Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama had gone through a rough decade; four coaches, four losing seasons, stifling NCAA sanctions and just one appearance in a major bowl. Saban brought the Crimson Tide back and despite losing out on a chance to play for the BCS national title, the season they had is still a success, anyway you look at it.
They meet the Utah Utes, also returning to prominence with the strong campaign they had this year.
Four years ago, Utah became the first non-BCS school to reach a major bowl since the format was created in 1998. The Urban Meyer-coached Utes defeated Pittsburgh in the Fiesta Bowl to complete their first perfect season since…
