NFL Week 13 continues this weekend.
Yes, it’s the 13th week of the 2008-09 NFL football season as teams start to clamor for playoff positions, hoping that week no.13 will be a lucky one for them.
NFL Week 13 continues Sunday as teams continue to jockey for position with the playoffs just around the corner. And since we’re talking about teams making moves for the postseason, let’s start with a team that has made great strides since struggling in the early stages of the football year, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
The 7-4 Colts can finish the month 5-0 on Sunday against the struggling Cleveland Browns to cap a stunning turnaround to the season. They came from behind in the second half to beat the Patriots and the Steelers and after holding off Houston on Nov. 16 and getting a 51-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal as time expired for a 23-20 road win over the Chargers, it is safe to assume that the once mighty Colts are back being high and mighty again.

Next we have this game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Buffalo Bills. After snapping a four-game losing streak with their best offensive performance of the season, the Bills look to take advantage of a porous 49ers defense when the teams meet Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills were on the verge of losing out on the playoffs again, wasting the strong start they just had this season. But after beating the Chiefs in stunning fashion, 54-31, looks like the Bills are back, ready to make headlines again.

NFL Thanksgiving Triple-Header
Thursday, November 27th, 2008
It’s Thanksgiving and since we have a triple header in the NFL on tap, there’s definitely a lot to be thankful for.
The brand new week of the 2008-09 NFL football season starts on Thanksgiving day with a triple-header that will surely blow your mind. Of course, SportsBetting.com is also there, ready to give you all kinds of Thanksgiving bonus offers aside from that turkey you’ll be chomping on at the dinner table.
We love tradition as much as the next guy, but can anyone give us one good reason why the Detroit Lions still get to play every Thanksgiving?
I mean, come on, the Dallas Cowboys, they hold up their end of the deal, but the Lions organization simply doesn’t deserve a spotlight game on Thanksgiving Thursday any more.
But there they are, kicking the day off. At least if you’re on the West Coast you can sleep in and miss the Lions game. That said, it’s still Thanksgiving Thursday football, one of the best days of the year and of course, this is also the perfect opportunity for you to cash in on the Thanksgiving bonus specials SportsBetting.com is offering.
Here’s what will be cooking on Thursday besides turkey and trimmings.
The Tennessee Titans will play the struggling Detroit Lions first. While the Titans blew a chance to keep the perfect season alive last week when they lost to the New York Jets, the 0-11 Lions are still on pace for another type of perfect season, running the table without a single win.
In fact, SportsBetting.com has a betting propositions wager…
New BCS Rankings in College Football
Thursday, November 27th, 2008
How long can Alabama stay on top of the mountain?
After 13 weeks into the 2008 NCAA college football season, the Alabama Crimson Tide remained on top of the standings and are only two wins away from playing in their very first national title game since 1992.
The Alabama Crimson Tide play Auburn on Saturday and Florida in the Southeastern Conference title game and if they win both games, they will earn one of two spots for the BCS national championship.
The Texas Longhorns, because of the confusing computer rankings, find themselves in the No.2 spot after Texas Tech lost to Oklahoma.
Speaking of, the Oklahoma Sooners jumped to No.3 after an impressive 65-21 victory over what was once the No.2 team in the nation, the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The loss to Oklahoma dropped Texas Tech to No.7.
Texas is close behind the Oklahoma Sooners in the polls, but has the second-best computer rating. The Longhorns’ BCS average is .9209 out of a possible 1.000. Oklahoma is at .9125. The Sooners have a road game against Oklahoma State (9-2) on Saturday that, if they win, should boost their computer score and likely sway a few more voters their way.
Texas plays Texas A&M (4-7) on Thanksgiving, a game that will weigh down the Longhorns’ strength of schedule, a vital part of the computer ratings, and won’t give voters much reason to move them up.
The Florida Gators (.8755) are in fourth place and are still in…
Titans’ Perfect Season ended by Jets
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
Brett Favre could now be the most hated man in Nashville, Tennessee.
Because after Brett Favre ended the Titans’ perfect run in the 2008-09 NFL football season, you just know that No.4 is now the most hated man in Nashville. You can’t blame them too because the Jets setting it up right then and there in front of the hostile Titans crowd was just… well, unfair.
In case you didn’t get that, the New York Jets ended the Titans’ bid for a perfect season after beating the once 10-0 Titans in Tennessee, 34-13. It was a convincing win for the Jets as Brett Favre jumped on the Titans right from the get-go, leading 10-3 at the end of the first half.
It was a painful reminder to the Tennessee Titans, a reminder that Brett Favre still is one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Oh yeah, the Titans were reminded too that if you give No.4 too much time, he can STILL pick the league’s best defenses apart.
Favre knows that they just defeated the best team in football today. STILL, he knows that does not necessarily mean that they are now the best after beating a team that was once THE best.
‘’I’m not going to sit here and say we’ve established ourselves as the best team in football,’’ Brett Favre said. ‘’All it says is I think we beat the best team in football today, definitely if you go by record and the way that they’ve played. They have been the best team in football.’’
With the win last Sunday, Favre has not only snapped Tennessee’s remarkable 13-game regular season winning streak that dates back to last season, they gave the 1972 Miami Dolphins another reason to pop the cork and celebrate because once again, a team came close to erasing them from the…
Saints host Packers on Monday night
Monday, November 24th, 2008
After a six-week absence, the Saints finally return to the Superdome.
Yep, it’s been six long weeks since the New Orleans Saints played a game at the Superdome this 2008-09 NFL football season. Against the Packers, people from New Orleans will finally see their team back. However, is this the same team making its return on Monday night?
For the last six weeks, the New Orleans Saints saw their trademark running game evaporate. The ground attack both Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister made famous is now 28th in the league.
With Bush out and McAllister struggling without his wingman, the Saints were forced to go to the air more and so far, it’s good for a 5-5 stand, unfortunately, that’s good for only last place in the NFC South.
Of course, the Saints’ new approach enabled Drew Brees to become one of the best quarterbacks in the league today. He has been the model of consistency in New Orleans during a time of uncertainty with franchise running back Reggie Bush out and premiere tight end Jeremy Shockey still learning Sean Payton’s playbook.
But will that be enough to beat a Green Bay Packers team looking to keep up with the rest of the NFC North?
The Bears and the Vikings just won their respective games last Sunday to keep their spots atop the division. The Packers have to win this Monday Night Football game just to jam themselves in the middle of what would be a three-way tie with the Bears and the Vikes again. They know too that whoever blinks first among these three football teams could ultimately lose out on a…
