The LA Lakers, who improve their record to 13-8 straight up, were led by all-star Kobe Bryant who scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. LA Lakers forward Lamar Odom had 15 points and 8 boards, and was the only other player for the Lakers to score in double digits. Nevertheless, all those who saw action for the Lakers from the bench were able to put some points on the board.
The San Antonio Spurs drop to a 17-5 record straight up. Spurs’ forward Bruce Bowen was the surprising high scorer for San Antonio with 22 points. Spurs’ substitutes Brent Barry and Michael Finley came off the bench to combine for 28 points.
The LA Lakers take a road trip to go up against Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors on December 14. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have two home games back in Texas. The Spurs host Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets on December 15 before hosting Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns on December 17.
