Manchester United has Premiership title within grasp

Manchester United went from 8/11 to 1/40 for the Premiership title in the space of 45 minutes on Saturday.

On an afternoon of high drama, the Red Devils surely took a decisive step towards their first title for four seasons as they came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at Everton while rivals Chelsea could only draw 2-2 at home to Bolton.

It was all so different at half-time in the two gCristiano Ronaldo Manchester Unitedames, which both kicked off at 12.45pm, as United were trailing 1-0 at Goodison Park and reigning Chelsea were 2-1 up at Stamford Bridge.

And Sports Interaction who traded their title odds in-running on surely the most thrilling day of the season so far, bet 8/11 United and evens Chelsea at that point when only goal difference separated the sides at the top of the table - with a meeting between them still to come.

But the Red Devils showed the quality of true champions as four goals in the final half hour sparked an extraordinary comeback.

Everton’s rookie keeper Iain Turner gifted John O’Shea a goal in the 61st minute, before an own goal by former Old Trafford player Phil Neville brought the sides level.

Wayne Rooney gave United the lead with just 11 minutes remaining before youngster Chris Eagles sealed the points with a superb curling effort.

In stark contrast at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were pegged back by a Kevin Davies header on 54 minutes and never fully recovered.

It all means the gap at the top of the table is now five points in United’s favour with just three games to go and Sports Interaction now offer 1/40 about Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and 12/1 against Chelsea.

It’s a similar story elsewhere, with United 1/33 at bet365 and Coral, and no better than 1/25 at Hills and Paddy Power.
