It’s been a Cinderella story for the Colorado Rockies. Two weeks ago, the San Diego Padres were one strike away from eliminating them from the wild-card race when the Padres went up against the Milwaukee Brewers. But then, Milwaukee’s Tony Gwynn Jr. hit a tying, two-out, two-strike triple off Padres pitcher Trevor Hoffman that gave the Colorado Rockies a fighting chance.

The next day, The Colorado Rockies went heads up with the San Diego Padres, and won one. The night after that, the Rockies beat the Padres in a 13-inning, National League wild-card tie-breaker match. And ever since then, the Colorado Rockies have been undefeated, going through 20 wins in 21 games.Colorado Rockies Are Going To The World Series For The First Time!

The latest achievement of the Colorado Rockies was a 4-0 sweep in the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which give them the National League pennant and a trip to the 2007 World Series. It’ll be the first trip of the Colorado Rockies to the World Series Championships since the franchise’s inaugural season in Major League Baseball back in 1993.

The Colorado Rockies are just waiting for the American League Championship Series between the Boston Red Sox vs. the Cleveland Indians to wrap up. So far, the Cleveland Indians are ahead in that best-of-seven series 2-1.

Colorado Rockies manager Clint Hurdle is hoping that their win streak will still continue in the 2007 World Series regardless of who their opponent is. What’s important for the Rockies is for them to maintain their quality of baseball, which has been impressive in all aspects. It’s not that the Rockies are hitting homers, but that they’re getting hits that lead to runs. Of course, there’s also the pitching prowess of the Colorado Rockies that is showing some remarkable stats. What’s also admirable about the Colorado Rockies is that they’re winning baseball games as a team, and is not really reliant on any superstar. All their success has been shared, and every night they post a win, there’s always a different Colorado player who becomes the hero.

The Colorado Rockies will hope to win the 2007 World Series by relying on their key pitchers like Josh Fogg and Jeff Francis, and also to the consistent hitting by the likes of Yorvit Torrealba, Kazuo Matsui, Chris Synder, and National League Championship Series MVP Matt Holliday.
