Circular Quay set to run at the Louisiana Derby
Winning two Kentucky Derby prep races with two different horses on March 3rd (the Hutcheson with King of the Roxy as well as the Fountain of Youth with Scat Daddy), and a number of promising 3 year olds, trainer Todd Pletcher will be pushing for another win and Circular Quay could very well help him earn that win.
In the 94th running of the Louisiana Derby, Circular Quay will be making his first appearance since the disappointing 4th place in the Risen Star Stakes (GIII) on February 10th.
With trainer Todd Pletcher’s recent track record in Kentucky Derby prep races and jockey John Velazquez riding, and his previous winning record, it’s no wonder Circular Quay is the race’s early favorite.
Circular Quay will have to be in great form to win on Saturday. With Kentucky Derby contenders like Liquidity, Zanjero and Imawildandcrazyguy in the field, this is by no means an easy race to win.
Liquidity, trained by Doug O’Neill, placed his last stakes after being beaten by a length to Ravel in early February’s Sham Stakes and lost by a head in his race in December. Find your daily horse betting odds in Bodog Racebook.
