Boston Red Sox: En Route To 2007 World Series Championships
Well, not really. At least, not yet.
First, the Boston Red Sox have to win the seven-game series against the Cleveland Indians for the 2007 American League Championship Series. If they win that, then they’re heading for the 2007 World Series Championships. The one advantage the Boston Red Sox has going into this series is that if it does have to go to game 7, then the deciding game will be played at the Boston Red Sox home stadium in Fenway Park.
The Boston Red Sox are also favorites to beat the Cleveland Indians on the American League Championship Series considering the results of their previous meeting during the 2007 MLB Regular Season. The Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians first clashed in the regular season back in May when The Red Sox hosted the Indians at Fenway Park. In that 3-game series, the Boston Red Sox won two games. The next time the Boston Red Sox faced the Cleveland Indians was when the Red Sox visited Jacobs Field for a 4-game series with the Indians. The Boston Red Sox won 3 of those games.
Certainly, the regular season success of the Boston Red Sox versus the Cleveland Indians will boost their confidence when Game 1 of the best-of-seven ALCS kicks off this weekend at Fenway Park.
The Cleveland Indians will look to the pitching prowess of Fausto Carmona and C.C. Sabathia, and to the swinging bats of Kenny Lofton, Grady Sizemore, Travis Hafner and Victor Martinez.
The Boston Red Sox will be depending on the pitching of Curt Schilling and Josh Becket, and to the red hot batting of Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz and Jason Varitek.
