2007 March Madness Bracket Wars will be waged Thursday
The 2007 March Madness bracket seeds are complete as we ready for the NCAA College Basketball tournament on Thursday.
The 2007 March Madness bracket was finally finalized last Sunday as the defending NCAA College Basketball champions, Florida Gators, bagged the overall No.1 seed for this year’s biggest sports tournament to date.
The Field of 65 will be led by the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Kansas Jayhawks, joining the defending champions, Gators, at the top, each earning No.1 seeds after winning their respective conference championships.
The Florida Gators received the overall No.1 seed in the tournament for the very first time despite being ranked as low as No.6 before the SEC Conference championship game. The Gators will be the No.1 seeded team to beat in the Midwest bracket this season.
The North Carolina Tar Heels bagged the No.1 seed after winning the ACC Conference championship for the first time since 1998. It was an all-North Carolina final in the ACC as the North Carolina Tar Heels beat the North Carolina State Wolfpack, 89-80. They will be seeded No.1 in the East group of the 2007 March Madness bracket.
The Kansas Jayhawks grabbed the No.1 seed in the West bracket while playing under the radar. This is now their seventh No.1 seeding after winning their second straight Big 12 Conference championship.
Last but not the least, Greg Oden and the Ohio State Buckeyes have lived up to the hype so far, bagging the No.1 seed in the South bracket. The Buckeyes won the Big Ten regular season and tournament championship.
There’s your big four heading to the 2007 March Madness bracket tournament opener on Thursday. These guys are not the NCAA Final Four yet but you just know that they will definitely have their hands full against the rest of the Field of 65 looking for an upset.
