Chicago Bulls visit the New York Knicks at MSG

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

The Bulls and the Knicks, two struggling teams this season will get it on this Saturday.

The 2007-08 NBA basketball season continues and we have teams finding it rather hard to get a win these days. Two of those struggling teams in the NBA meet on Saturday as the 2-8 Chicago Bulls visit the 2-9 New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The Bulls, after sweeping the Miami Heat in a shocking first round playoff encounter, have only won a couple of games after their first ten. Understandably, the Chicago locals do not like it one bit. After a 2-8 start to what should be a season when they go for a championship, they should be.

Talk-radio callers had seen enough of this season’s sorry brand of Bulls basketball. One said he was no longer ”disappointed” but ”disgusted” by the team’s play on its way to a 2-8 record. ”Embarrassing” was how another described the Bulls.

And perhaps what’s even worse is the fact that Chicago Bulls head coach, Scott Skiles, seem oblivious to all these. Good thing they have the also struggling New York Knicks next.

”That’s OK,” Bulls coach Scott Skiles said after a relatively light practice, 30 minutes of running, followed by a meeting and video review. ”If any fan is calling up and criticizing a player, they ought to be criticizing me, too. I’m the leader. I would never run from that responsibility.”

Their rivals this Saturday…

NFL Week 12 Betting Preview: Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

randy-moss.jpgNFL oddsmakers are giving this game Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots –23. No doubt about this game even with the odds of –23 to the New England Patriots as they host the Philadelphia Eagles in week 12 of the of the 2007-08 NFL Regular Season.

With injuries plaguing the Philadelphia Eagles (5-5), Philadelphia Eagles free safety Brian Dawkins has a neck stinger and Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard suffering with a sprained knee are still playing hurt, and a shoulder injury of Sean Considine this might be a long night for the visiting Eagles.

Slowing down New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss and having a good game coming from Eagles’ quarterback A.J. Feeley, who was 13-for-19 for 116 yards in their last game might give chances for the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the New England Patriots.

Eagles’ Brian Dawkins said “Every team can be beaten, that’s a given, there’s no team that’s played the game that can’t be beaten. We, as a team, want to go in there and do what we can so we can get a win up there.”

NFL Week 12 Betting: Indianapolis Colts vs. Atlanta Falcons

Peyton Manning Quarterback for the Indianapolis ColtsIndianapolis Colts - 11.5 @ Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have a 3-7 NFL record and are 6-4 against the spread. The Indianapolis Colts have an 8-2 NFL record and are also 6-4 against the spread.

The Indianapolis Colts are averaging 27.8 points in scoring while allowing only 15.9 points against them. The Atlanta Falcons average scoring 14.2 points per game while allowing 21.3 points per game. Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison will not be an option for quarterback Peyton Manning since Harrison is out with a knee injury. Will that make it more difficult for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts to cover the -11.5 spread? Maybe.
