2007-08 NBA Season Opening Week: Yao Ming & Tracy McGrady vs. Kobe Bryant
Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

The Houston Rockets, led by Chinese basketball superstar Yao Ming and all-star Tracy McGrady, will be visiting the City of Angels to play in their opening game of the 2007-08 NBA regular season against the Los Angeles Lakers, who will be led by 9-time NBA All-star Kobe Bryant, or will they?
News around the NBA, or rather gossip, has been fueling a possible Kobe Bryant trade. LA Lakers owner Jerry Buss made a comment to the media last week saying that he would listen to trade offers for Kobe Bryant. However, no teams have really made any big announcements, and it looks like Jerry Buss will be keeping Kobe Bryant after all.
However, Kobe Bryant hasn’t still been seen in practice, and rumors about Kobe Bryant clearing out his locker surfaced, but Kobe Bryant was quick to issue a statement denying those rumors.
Colorado Rockies Are Going To The World Series For The First Time!
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

It’s been a Cinderella story for the Colorado Rockies. Two weeks ago, the San Diego Padres were one strike away from eliminating them from the wild-card race when the Padres went up against the Milwaukee Brewers. But then, Milwaukee’s Tony Gwynn Jr. hit a tying, two-out, two-strike triple off Padres pitcher Trevor Hoffman that gave the Colorado Rockies a fighting chance.
The next day, The Colorado Rockies went heads up with the San Diego Padres, and won one. The night after that, the Rockies beat the Padres in a 13-inning, National League wild-card tie-breaker match. And ever since then, the Colorado Rockies have been undefeated, going through 20 wins in 21 games.
The latest achievement of the Colorado Rockies was a 4-0 sweep in the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which give them the National League pennant and a trip to the 2007 World Series. It’ll be the first trip of the Colorado Rockies to the World Series Championships since the franchise’s inaugural season in Major League Baseball back in 1993.
New England Patriots: Still Undefeated!
Monday, October 15th, 2007
New England Patriots – 48; Dallas Cowboys – 27.
The New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys both entered the game with perfect records of 5-0, and certainly only one of them were going to leave the field with a 6-0 record.
The Dallas Cowboys looked to have the home field advantage at the Texas Stadium, but then sometimes even the home crowd support can’t be enough to beat a team as red hot as the New England Patriots. The quarterback match-up featured New England’s Tom Brady vs. Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys, but it was Tom Brady who got the better of the day, throwing a career-high five touchdowns!
The Patriots set the tone in the first quarter with a Tom Brady to Randy Moss TD, followed by a Tom Brady to Wes Welker TD to give the Pats a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
The Cowboys were able to rally back to 14-10 in the second quarter, scoring their first points through a Nick Folk field goal followed by a TD from the Dallas Cowboy defense when Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher recovered a fumble by Tom Brady and ran it into the end zone.
The Patriots were able to get another field goal through another Brady to Wes Welker combo, but that TD was answered back by the Cowboys when Cowboys QB Tony Romo threw to Terrel Owens to make the score 21-17 at the end of the first half in favor of the Patriots.
Can Culpepper lead the Raiders past Chargers Sunday?
Sunday, October 14th, 2007
As of the moment, Daunte Culpepper is the man in Oakland, Cali.
After a five-touchdown performance that simply created a wild scramble for Daunte Culpepper in NFL fantasy leagues, the Oakland Raiders will be sticking with Daunte against the San Diego Chargers as they prepare to make the trip to Cali for Week 6 of the 2007-08 NFL football season.
Yes, Daunte Culpepper, after joining Miami, is back creating headlines with his touchdowns again. He had five of them against his former team and the Oakland Raiders doesn’t even have to think twice about starting Culpepper.
The Oakland Raiders, before taking a time off with their bye-week, were simply beating Miami on the football field. It was Daunte Culpepper’s return to Miami when he was due to face his former Miami Dolphins teammates.
Oh yes, Daunte was feeling it too.
Daunte Culpepper had a massive five-touchdown performance to simply destroy any semblance of defense the Miami Dolphins threw at him. He had two passing and three rushing touchdowns, giving Miami a glimpse of the Culpepper they picked up from the Minnesota Vikings.
Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin is sticking with Daunte against a somewhat struggling San Diego Chargers team. After surprising…
England VS Estonia in Euro 2008 Qualifiers
Saturday, October 13th, 2007
David Beckham is still nursing a knee injury and he’ll be out for England’s fixture against Estonia.
Heading to England’s Euro 2008 Qualifier against Estonia this Saturday, David Beckham will be out with yet another injury. Despite that, Steve McClaren is still praising the guy because of his motivation to return and play again for his home country.
England head coach Steve McClaren is praising David Beckham for, according to McClaren, the way the England star is still trying to regain his fitness.
‘‘He’s a true patriot and he loves playing for England,” England coach Steve McClaren said of Beckham for his efforts to be available for the national team’s campaign this season. ”That’s still his motivation, that’s still his mind-set.”
David Beckham is still nursing a right knee injury he sustained playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy in MLS soccer. The injury denied Becks for two England European Championship qualifiers last September and will still rule him out of two more fixtures, one against Estonia this Saturday, and another against Russia.
What David Beckham is aiming for now is to be fit in time to lead England to next summer’s finals in Switzerland and Austria. Back in 2001, Becks did just that, scoring a late free kick against Greece to send the England national team to the…
