Struggling Rams visit Cowboys County on NFL Sunday

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

The Rams are 0-3 and things won’t get better on Sunday when they take on the still undefeated Cowboys in Dallas.

In what should be a lopsided battle between the best team in the NFC and the worst team of the same conference, the St. Louis Rams try to get in the win column against Tony Romo, Terrell Owens and the rest of the red-hot Cowboys on Sunday.

The Rams continue to struggle in this 2007-08 NFL football season, Rams RB Steven Jackson just got blitzed by a left groin injury that could have him out for a week, at least.

Steven Jackson, after struggling for the third straight week, left last Sunday’s 24-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a partial tear on his left groin. He is now ruled out for their next Sunday’s dance with the Dallas Cowboys.

How bad has this season been for these guys? After losing Orlando Pace, the seven-time Pro Bowl tackle that clears the lanes for the Rams RBs, in the very first game of the football year with a season-ending shoulder injury, they lost Steven Jackson a day after losing guard Mark Setterstrom, who is also now out for the remainder of what should be an already lost season.

St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger is the only star left playing for St. Louis. Bulger is playing with bruised ribs and you just know that the Rams just can’t afford to lose this guy too.

We all saw that last Sunday in…

Notre Dame Fighting Irish try to get in Win Column Saturday

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish continue to struggle.

After four weeks into the 2007-08 NCAA college football season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have already set a milestone that they can’t possible be proud of.

For the first time in their 119 years of playing college football, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are a perfect 0-4. That’s despite the fact that they got to the end zone, TWICE, against a team they normally would just beat all over the field, the Michigan State Spartans.

On Saturday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be trying to snap their losing streak to welcome the brand new football year against the Purdue Boilermakers. That or we could very well see the Irish go 0-5 for the first time in their 119 seasons in the league.

Against the Spartans last Saturday, the Fighting Irish scored in each of the first two quarters of their game at Notre Dame Stadium. That, however, would be the last thing they would be able to do against Michigan State as the Irish will get virtually BLANKED in the second half.

End result? Michigan State Spartans beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 31-14.

For what it’s worth, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are…

Houston Texans: Good Bet Against The Spread Over Atlanta Falcons

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Houston Texans at Atlanta Falcons, Sunday, September 30.

The Atlanta Falcons are being given a +3 on their home court, and that could be a good spread for the Falcons, but then the Houston Texans are on a rampage and they’ve been very good against the spread, even if they lost to the Indianapolis Colts on Week 3 by 6. The +6.5 spread for the Houston Texans gave the Texans the win over the Indianapolis Colts against the spread.

Atlanta Falcons QB Joey HarringtonMeanwhile, The Atlanta Falcons are 0-3 in their regular season standings as well as 0-3 against the spread. The Atlanta Falcons managed only 3 points in their first game of the season. Their Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars only saw them make 7 points. They were able to pick up more offense for Week 3, but even with a +4 home field advantage against the Carolina Panthers, they still fell short losing 27-20. And they only have a +3 against the Houston Texans, who are averaging more than 20 points a game, including an impressive 34-21 win over the Carolina Panthers at the Panthers’ home stadium. Maybe the Atlanta Falcons are suffering a bit of bad karma since Falcons’ quarterback Michael Vick has been under criminal litigation for several animal rights violations.

Free NFL Betting Picks & Tips For Week 4 Of 2007-08 NFL Season: New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

This Sunday, September 30, marks the 4th week of the 2007 NFL Season, and already it’s been a very eventful start to the season with loads of highlight material touchdowns, and not to mention some surprising results in the games that have been played so far. For example, who would have ever thought that the New Orleans Saints are 0-3 so early in the season? Of course, the Superbowl XLI Champions Indianapolis Colts are expected to be 3-0 as well as the New England Patriots.

But then, this is about NFL betting picks, and while the Indianapolis Colts may have a 3-0 record, they’re 2-1 when their against the spread. On paper, it’s easy to pick a winner, but then when the Buffalo Bills are being given +17 against the New England Patriots, as what happened in Week 3 of the 2007-08 NFL Season, then it changes the whole story on making the right bet to win. After all, NFL betting is all about the spread.

Anyway, here are some free picks you might want to consider:

Chad Pennington of the NY Jets
