Pistons shoot for commanding 3-0 lead in Game 3 vs Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have some talented young players and have enjoyed a fine season. But the Detroit Pistons just seem to be in a class of their own.
The top-seeded Pistons try to send the eighth-seeded Bucks into a crippling 3-0 hole in their Eastern Conference first-round series when the teams square off Saturday.
After finishing the regular season with a league-best
64-18 record, Detroit opened defense of its back-to-back Eastern Conference titles with a 92-74 rout in Game One.
Game Two was much of the same on Wednesday as Richard Hamilton scored 18 points and dished out eight assists despite playing through an ankle injury.
Tayshaun Prince scored 22 points and Chauncey Billups added 20 for the Pistons, who placed six players in double figures and had 30 assists against only nine turnovers in the 109-98 triumph.
The Bucks were led by 29 points from Michael Redd, who made 10-of-18 shots from the field and all seven of his free throws. T.J. Ford contributed 17 points and rookie Andrew Bogut grabbed 13 rebounds for Milwaukee, which has lost eight of its last 11 games dating to the regular season.
With a win in Game Three, the Pistons will go for a sweep here on Monday.
