NCAA Football Odds: Can the Texas Longhorns defend their college football title?
Texas Longhorns sit seventh in BCS standings, but Ohio State still at No. 1.
There are only .023 points separating the fourth through seventh spots on the BCS standings. With less than five weeks until the college football bowl invitations go out to the respective teams, the Texas Longhorns have a chance (albeit a slim one) to defend its national title. Here’s how they can do it:
Win their final three regular-season games PLUS the Big 12 Championship game. To make matters even more interesting, there can only be one unbeaten team ahead of them in the final standings.
This is college football… and anything can happen.
The USC Trojans 33-31 loss to Oregon State on Saturday bumped them down to the eighth spot, putting them behind Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, Florida, Louisville, Auburn and Texas.
While things may not be looking good for the Trojans, sports writers aren’t giving the Longhorns much of a chance, either, as the most popular (possible) matchup for the BCS National Title right now seems to be Ohio State vs. West Virginia.
It has finally happened, after many college fans were outraged that the USC Trojans were in the top 3 of the BCS rankings, their fall from grace finally occurred with a loss to the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday. With the fall of USC, Louisville and Florida have taken their rightful spot in the top 5.
