English Premiership clubs out to win UEFA Cup
English Premiership side Tottenham HotSpurs are 10/1 to win the UEFA Cup, according to BetOnline.com, after finding out yesterday who they’ll face in the group stages of the competition.
The North Londoners are 1/7 to qualify from their group, which consists of German club Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge, Besiktas and Dinamo Bucharest.
And Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, who joined Spurs from their German opponents in the summer, is 2/1 to notch against his former Bundesliga club.
Newcastle United, who appear to have the toughest draw, are 1/3 to qualify from a group which includes West Ham’s conquerors Palermo. The Magpies are 20/1 to win the UEFA Cup competition.
Mark Hughes’s Blackburn side are 1/5 to make it through, whilst Scottish side Rangers’ under fire boss Paul Le Guen will come up against his compatriots Auxerre. The former Lyon manager is 1/3 to steer his team into the next round.
Whilst Newcastle United have been drawn in what appears a tricky group, all four English Premier League sides will fancy their chances of UEFA Cup qualifying, especially given that three sides will progress.
BetOnline.com is 6/4 about all four British sides qualifying for the next round. Reigning UEFA Cup holders Sevilla from the Primera Liga are 5/1 favourites to retain their crown.
