Browns Will Give Texans First NFL Season Win In Houston

Sunday, October 30th, 2005 at 12:08 pm

The Houston Texans are just terrible at this point of the NFL regular season. They lost all their six NFL face-offs and are now way behind AFC South division leaders, Indianapolis Colts.

On Sunday, the lowly Cleveland Browns will come into town and the Texans can get another crack in scoring that elusive ‘W’. This is by far the Texans’ best chance in stopping their somewhat downward spiral flow in these NFL wars.

One thing going for the Houston Texans is that the visiting Cleveland Browns are also on a losing streak of their own. The Browns are currently in a two-game losing streak and that levels the playing field come NFL Sunday.

Another thing going for the Texans would have to be Andre Johnson’s return to the lineup. And as far as the Browns are concerned, Gary Baxter’s injury adds yet another adversity to an already miserable Browns football season.

Andre Johnson’s return could certainly boost the Texans’ chances of winning this Sunday.

Johnson had more than 1,000 yards receiving last season and often forced double teams that made their wide receivers, well, wide open to receive the football. His return to the Texans would certainly take some pressure off David Carr.

Despite the miserable start of the NFL Season, the Texans remain optimistic.

”Hey, we’re all part of this. It’s how we respond right now that will determine where we are at the end of the year,” Houston head coach Dom Capers, said.

”I’m still convinced that we can get this thing going right,” he added.

This is the Houston Texans’ best, and perhaps, last chance of salvaging what has been a horrendous season. If the Cleveland Browns win this one, which I highly doubt, the Texans can kiss their season goodbye.
