New hope for the future was instilled in Knicks fans at the beginning of the season from the hype stemming from the Curry trade and Brown's hiring. However the first half of the season was a disaster, as the franchise struggled to adjust to a new coach and had a 15-37 record two weeks into the 2006. The Knicks traded Antomio Davis to the Toronto Raptors for small forward Jalen Rose, and later acquired All-Star guard Steve Francis from the Orlando Magic. Some of the retired numbers by the Knicks includes Dave DeBusschere, Patrick Ewing, Dick Barnett, Dick McGuire and Bill Bradley.
